wow nice find
879 euros for me
fun link. my first run (123) and my second run 497
I wonder if the order generation is random, or its tied to the stock price
I think they loop predetermined paths. I did the demo a few times and there appears to be at least 2 separate tracks that BMW follows.
whoo 2282
wow 1,748 and i thought that was good
778
beats the barcap game from a while back lol
nice find
2535
they came to my school and are running a trading competition With this game, you will notice that the price follows the same pattern every time... by my 3rd time, I took advantage of that big jump and fall in the middle and got 3000+
1955
This is probably a stupid question, but I have 0 experience with this. What is unreal P&L vs real P&L? What do they mean? How is each computed?
If you buy 1 share of a stock at 100, and the stock goes up to $110, you have a P&L of $10, but if you dont sell this stock at 110, then that P&L is called unrealized because you only have it in a mark to market sense. If you sell the stock at 110, you have $10 of realized P&L.
The simulation can be fun for some time if you fail to notice that the curve goes exactly the same :) An international trading competition called Traders Trophy uses this platform and they recently had the finals here at stock exchange in Amsterdam. I've participated in it, but didn't get further than 3rd place in the semis because the game was seriously flawed...
3,450 (72 total trades).... granted that was prop trading in 1000 lots, not market making clients haha
1682 almost purely market making 2429 market making and prop
What is the strategy for market-making here? Did you just plainly accept the quotes provided?
I am completely new to trading. Could you outline a basic strategy for this game?
When you answer the phone how do you know how to adjust your spread? Are you just clicking quote immediately?
http://www.traderstrophy.com/tutorial.html
btw, this specific sim repeats its scenarios every time (once i noticed that, i scored 5700+ euros) better training would be to try some virtual trading software which actually mirror the s&p real-time - however, they're usually daytrading sims and not market-making sims
What are the key differences between market making and prop?
Check out Rotman interactive trader (RIT). It's a better platform IMO.
4,111 Euros on 92 trades...
i have no idea how to market make, I just give the bid/ask prices that are suggested and take proprietary positions through my swing trading exp lol
1987 pure market making
try doing it w/o prop---u can just swing trade
2219.
This doesn't have much replay value though. To make 3000+ you really need to just take huge prop risk on the major swings.
haha this is cool
5482
Mostly through prop
4180 through market making/prop
4387, mostly prop.
2,442 market making. nice simulator though. thanks

how do you achieve a net position of zero? does this imply having a 10000 position when the market is moving up, a -10000 position when market is moving down and a position of 0 when market is not moving???
good fun that
Hey guys, I don't get this. When a bank calls you with a quote, how are you supposed to know if you are buying or selling that stock?

When you're making markets you are both sides of the market bid/ask.
You're making a market. They can hit either side of your bid and offer.
