Corp Fin (FLDP grad) Resume Advice
I am "graduating" from a FLDP program (coming up on my 2 years at a F500) and I am trying to move on and find another Corp Fin role at a F500.
I simply do not see myself staying at this company because it has a slow and bureaucratic culture and I really want to switch to a different firm.
I wanted some Resume advice before I send out my applications - and I have some specific skills.
1.) Objectives on the Resume
- Every time I see a Resume with an "Objective," it makes me cringe and I'm sure that's the conventional wisdom is the same. However, WSO is very Wall St/Bank/Consulting focused. The more I look around in F500 Corp Fin jobs, people seems to put/expect Objectives on Resumes.
2.) Same thing with a list of "Skills"
Again, whenever I see a Resume with a long list of skills at the top, it makes me lol. However, mid-level people at F500s seem to think that's this is OK and even acceptable.
So, the question is. Are we (Corp Fin/FLDP) serving our best interests by following the WSO (banking/consulting) conventional knowledge.
My personal Resume DOES NOT have Objectives or a Skills List! Should I change that?
Thanks,
I graduated from FLDP. pursuing mba....dont do an objective or skills sections. super corny
