CB in NY vs IB in Texas?

Title... have offers for both and was wondering how I should be thinking about the two? CB is under CIB umbrella for a BB while offer in Texas is for a MM but in IB. Should I do a couple of years of CB in NY and then try to switch to IB? Or is it easier to just do IB as an SA and then convert / possibly recruit for FT? Personally prefer NY location-wise, but want to hear perspectives on maybe what the pros and cons of each location and role are.

What's your end goal? 2 years and out to PE, or flexible on timing and ultimate exits? CB can exit to credit-related opportunities if of interest, but if you want vanilla PE the IB role would probably be better (although exits in Houston will mostly be to TX or energy/infra).

You can do a search on here, but Houston can generally be tougher to get out of - whether for lateral, An -> PE in NY, and even SA -> FT. Don't think there is a clear cut answer here, depends on what you are prioritizing.
