Queen's Commerce or Waterloo AFM

So I'm currently a Grade 12 Student in Ontario and I've received offers from Waterloo AFM and Queen's Commerce

Which school should I go to if I want to pursue Investment banking? I heard that Waterloo's co-op is insanely good and my friends are going there so I'm leaning more towards Waterloo. However the prestige of Queen's Commerce and it being one of the hardest programs to get into in all of Canada is really enticing.

Most Helpful

Queen’s Commerce for traditional front office roles, especially if you plan to stay in Canada. Insanely tight network / alumni relations for Canadian standards.

Would consider Waterloo AFM if you want to cast a wider net on the type of roles you can target post grad, esp. on the more technical front.

If you are interested in working in the U.S later, doing AFM might give you a much easier time for a TN visa vs. Queen’s Commerce.

Fwiw I’m a Queen’s grad working in NY.
