UChicago MPP VS Gtown MS Global Real Assets

I am choosing between the 2-year UChicago MPP (STEM) and the 1-year Georgetown MS Global Real Assets (non-STEM) in the US.

BG: international student, currently on a gap year, UK target undergrad in a non-finance/business/econ/math/hard sciences subject

Career goal: work in the US after my master degree and decide if I want to go back to Asia after a few years, ideally join an IBD at BB/EB and later join a PE, also interested in HF though, will consider smaller shops immediately after graduation and then move to bigger banks and funds (unsure of feasibility), not entirely sure on doing real estate/infra finance long-term (heard the transfer to the more general finance areas is possible but not easy)

UChicago MPP: target school, can intern in the US during the summer, STEM OPT allows me to work in the US for up to 3 years after my master

Gtown MS-GRA: also target and the program is in the business school, 1 year program and non-STEM (will likely need to do another STEM 1/1.5-year finance master to work in the US), program is on real estate/infra/renewable energy finance and ESG, hopefully will get an MSF offer for my second master, extra work to apply for masters again this year

Let's not consider costs at this stage of planning. Fine to have the next 2-2.5 years doing graduate study.

Pls feel free to let me know your thoughts and if I have missed considering anything. Appreciate it!

Wouldn’t recommend coming to the US for a non stem degree, even if you plan on doing a second masters. It’s simply a waste of time and money.

Since you have a profile that gets you into U Chicago, I would recommend applying for their stem MSF. It is a new course but gives you access to all the right things (finance + booth + target school). Other target schools that you can look into are MIT, JHU.
