Associate switching to intern?
Interned with a Big4 advisory team and received an offer to start full time this summer. I have 120 credits and need 150 for the CPA and will be attending grad-school to hit 150. I also received an internship offer with a better Big4 firm in a more desirable location that I can work at the summer leading into grad school. How frowned upon would it be to work 6-8 months at my current firm then intern with a competitor? Will the competitor firm allow me to intern and would this be a bad look for future employers? Looking for any advice thanks!
You're asking if your current employer would allow you to take unpaid leave to go intern at another competitor for 3 months? Obviously no. You would need to terminate your employment before leaving.
I would be quitting not taking “unpaid leave”
If you want this other opportunity, fine. But you’re not going to be able to go back to Employer A after starting with Employer B.
The choice is yours, but you’ll have to commit to it.
