I went to a liberal arts college and studied physics but got a FT offer

i think the best approach is to major in something interesting / non business related in undergrad, graduate in 3 years ideally, if possible, then do a 1 year masters in finance

Non-Finance undergrad. But one of my MBA majors is Finance. Took only one business class in college and it was my senior year last semester.

I had an epiphany that I realized I truly hated my STEM major during my senior year (but decided to push through rather than taking on a 5th year which I did contemplate briefly). The intro to business class I took my last semester on a whim was really interesting. Business / Finance was legitimately one of the best programs at my school (outside of engineering) that placed better than most majors including mine for employment.

Legitimately had a "wtf did I just do for the last 4 years" moment at graduation.

College is meant to learn stuff you want to learn, build friendships and grow as a person.

Best way to do that is go somewhere fun, study something you're interested in, and if you want to work in finance then take some courses or do a masters in finance after undergraduate

Majored in accounting and IB interviewers always skipped the dreadful accounting part of the interview bc they thought i knew more lmao when i actually didn’t
