Moving from Investment Banking to Portfolio Operations and Monitoring at top Private equity brand
I am contemplating a switch from investment banking to a tier 1 private equity portfolio operations and monitoring role. The money expected would be really good. I wont have a carry component in the first year but will be added to the pool in the 2nd year.
I do not like to work hours that come with investment banking. I have spent 5 years in investment banking and would have really liked to get into investing roles but since I haven't done an MBA, none of the good PEs are interviewing me for investing roles.
This portfolio operations role is also in my hometown because of which I am attracted to it.
How do I decide and what all should I consider? How will it affect my career ahead?
Fine job and sounds like the money is strong, but you won't be able to exit to an investor role from here
No one respond until he tells us what the role actually pays besides something vague like “really good”.
