On-Cycle recruiting as 2nd year analyst?

Interested in participating in On-Cycle recruiting as a 2nd-year analyst.

Only participated in 2 off-cycle recruiting processes last year with one being sourced through CPI and the other process was a referral from my VP (got an offer here that I rejected). Didn't speak with any other HHs so don't have existing relationships with any of them outside of CPI (with whom the relationship is positive - I got really good feedback during the process from the PE firm through CPI).

  1. How do I put myself out there in front of the HHs / make sure I am on their initial screening lists?

  2. Will I be pushed more on my deal experience since I'll have a whole year under my belt?

  3. Will the model tests be any different than those for first-years?

  4. My bank has a 2-year analyst program (no 3rd year) so I'll have to stay on as an associate for a year if I get a 2026 offer. Would firms be okay with that?

  5. What can I do between now and July to prepare for on-cycle?

Also happy to hear about other experiences from people who went through on-cycle as a second year analyst and what the outcomes were.
