When Do PE Funds Start Reaching Out to Their Incoming Associates?
As the title says - currently a 2nd year Analyst who was fortunate enough to get an offer for PE on-cycle ~1.5 years ago. The end of my Analyst program is coming up in less than 2 months and I still haven't heard from my PE fund yet (offer letter communicated start at end of July/ beginning of August).
Is this normal? How early do PE funds start reaching out to their incoming Associates?
Depending on the fund, it's very possible that they're just not that structured from an HR perspective, and it's slipped the recruiting team's minds.
Since we're in April, it would be totally reasonable for you to reach out to your contact proactively and ask if they've thought about a start date yet.
Thank you - this is helpful.
It is a large cap fund, so I had assumed that they would be more on top of emailing about onboarding, background checks, etc. My bank reached out to us 6 months+ before starting.
I will reach out proactively to my contact as you suggested. Trying to reassure myself that they wouldn't rescind an offer four months before the start date haha.
