Profile Evaluation - Masters in Finance
Hi, guys!
Been reading WSO for a long time now and profile evaluation discussions have been really insightful and helpful. I am considering doing a MSc in Finance in one of the universities mentioned below and would like you guys to evaluate my profile.
Programs:
Bocconi (MiF, AFC, MIM)
SSE (MFin, MValFM, MiM)
ESSEC (MiF)
RSM (MFin&Inv)
EUR (MFinEcon)
Goal: IB/Consulting in London/EU, consider getting into investing roles later (PE/PC/HF/AM).
Background:
· BSc in Economics from a uni in Eastern/Southern Europe; local target/semi-target but unknown outside of the region. Program is very stats/math heavy which I don't really enjoy but got used to.
· 90% GPA on a local grading scale. Translates to ~3.6 / 4.0
· 700 GMAT (48 Q, 38 V)
· 8.0 IELTS (also speak a tiny bit of French but can learn if needed)
Experience:
· Big4 corporate finance advisory
· Business Valuation internship
· Big4 Audit
· PE internship (search fund)
Extracurriculars
· Uni Investment Club
· Additional courses
· Big4 Deals case championship winner
Additional info:
I come from a small remote town and a have a modest financial situation, thus I will need to get some kind of tuition fee waiver/scholarship to be able to attend.
Thank you!
I think you’re looking very strong work experience & EC wise.
It’s hard to understand what your GPA is, is there any way you can translate it to an international 4.0 scale?
Your GMAT is low for HSG MBF, but is solid for HSG MaccFin. I think it’s solid for all the other schools you have listed.
Thanks for the input! I'm not sure about the GPA. In my uni 85%+ is A, but on the internet it says my grade is in the middle between A and B, so I guess 3.5-3.7 I actually consider retaking GMAT but have heard 700 is enough to get accepted (and maybe a scholarship).
Financially speaking RSM and SSE are the best options if you don't want to spend too much :)
I'm from outside of EEA, so RSM is 22k€, and SSE is 16k€, so I need to get a scholarship.
Ah true but aren(t the others even more expensive...
