Chances to get into Trading?

Hi everyone,

I am new here but I quite enjoy reading these forums.

I have finally created an account and want to ask a question:

Consider these qualifications:
1) I live in Germany and have studied in the UK and got a 2.1 honours degree in Management (I am not sure what this is in GPA terms). Moreover, I have worked part-time during my studies for about a year in ops at a BB in the back office (think GS/MS). Thereafter, I have done a summer internship in PWM at a Swiss Bank. Currently, I am doing a Masters in Finance and work part time at a BB (think GS) in institutional sales.

With these qualifications- what are my chances of getting into Trading? I am thinking about canceling my masters program and applying for full time positions. Would you guys reckon that is a good decision?

Many thanks for your input.

Best regards,

OhHi

If it's institutional sales in S&T (as opposed to AM), then you should stay put and finish your degree. The most important thing is being on the trading floor and after a few years (maybe sooner) you should be able to move from the sales role to a trading role since you are in constant contact with traders.
