Verbal Offer to Written Offer Timeframe

I interviewed with one of the lower tier BBs for their S&T full-time program recently and HR called me last Friday to congratulate me on the offer. He also said I should receive written offer either last Friday or yesterday. However I did not receive offer yesterday so I shot him an email and he has not gotten back to me yet. I am sorry to be paranoid here but should I ring the HR's phone directly to ask for my status? Or email should suffice? How likely it is for a BB to back off on a verbal offer? I am asking because I have an existing offer from a Big 4 and that expires this Friday.
