Preferable degree for possible career in IB/VC

Hi everyone!
This is my first post here, and it might be in the wrong place, so please feel free to correct me or move it if that's the case. As a bit of background, I just finished my senior year of high school and I'll be starting as a freshman at UC Berkeley in about two weeks. While I have no idea what the future holds, my current plan is to get a double major in Chemistry and either Economics or Business, as those encompass the topics I'm passionate about and I would have a variety of job options post-undergrad. Recently, I've become especially interested in Investment Banking and Venture Capital, and would consider a career in these fields if I find they're something I enjoy. My question for you all is: if I either apply to the Haas Undergraduate Program and don't get in or I choose to pursue an Economics degree instead, will I be substantially worse off recruiting-wise than if I had received a BS in Business Management from Haas? Will the fact that I graduated from Berkeley make any difference at all in comparison to traditionally "lower-ranked" schools (though I understand the rankings are often bogus)? Thanks in advance for your responses; I'm obviously many years away from choosing a career, but I figure it's never too early to start thinking.
Danny

Thanks a lot for your message. I tried to send a reply but I don't think I've been a member on this forum for the requisite two days, so I'll send it as soon as it lets me. Danny
